Principal's Message
Dear Families of Derfelt Elementary,
I am honored and thrilled to introduce myself as the proud principal of Herbert A. Derfelt Elementary School. It is truly a privilege to be a part of this vibrant and dedicated school community.
With years of experience in education—as a classroom teacher, instructional leader, and Assistant Principal—I am committed to maintaining a school environment where every child is seen, heard, and empowered to thrive. I firmly believe that strong relationships between families, students, and staff are the foundation of a thriving school.
I promise to lead by example—with integrity, respect, and a focus on continuous improvement. I will work alongside our amazing staff to celebrate our accomplishments and learn from our challenges. Together, I know we can build on the school’s strong traditions and continue to foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where every student feels valued and inspired to reach their full potential.
In the coming months, I look forward to getting to know each of you and learning about your children. I am thrilled to be part of the Dolphin family, and I look forward to a great year ahead.
