What is the role of the SOT?

  • Provide input on the school performance plan and budget.

  • Provide continued advice to the principal in carrying out the school plan.

  • Assist with the selection of the next principal when there is a vacancy.

We are officially on Winter Break and half way through the school year! We

hope you all enjoy this time with your family and friends. After we return

from the Winter Break, we will be transitioning to monthly updates instead of

weekly ones, however we will notify you directly if there is any

pertinent information. Please read the information below to stay up to date with events occurring at Derfelt ES and updates from the school district.

Upcoming events are listed below:

  • December 18th - Report cards will be available in Infinite Campus, and are no longer sent home with students

    • *Please note, students do not return to school until Wednesday, January 5th.

  • January 17th - No school, Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Important Information:

  1. Lost & Found - Are you wondering where that new jacket or sweatshirt is that you bought your child? Well we may have found it! Please encourage your child to check lost and found. There are items on the stage in the Cafeteria, and we are also displaying many of them right in the entryway at the front of the school.

  2. Hats and Hoods - We understand that the weather is getting cooler. Please remind your child that hats and hoods are only permitted outside, not in the school building.
